Diving off the Edge

Today is the second to last day of camp!

It is very upsetting to know this

Today we started to play with Google Sketch Up

It was more fun than I thought it would be

Google Sketch Up also had nothing to do with google at all and that surprised me

It was a bit like the other programs we did except it was more artlike and we didn't deal with codes or anything like that

We created houses on it which was cool

All I could think was that my sister Jessica would love doing this while I made my house

I thought today was really fun which is appropriate because it is the second to last day of camp

I got a lot of stuff done today and I really liked going to camp today but it feels like I'm diving off the edge of a cliff

Today we learned about Star Logo

It reminded me of a graphics program I took once

The bright colors added to that effect

It was hard to deal with the glitches in the game

I had issues with the idea of drowning animals but I admit it was still fun to do

Making letter with our bodies was hard because we all had different ideas

The stretches were short

Spud was fun to play but not overly fun

Shocked

Today we worked with electrical circuits

I was surprised that we were learning about a subject that I have done before in the past over and over again in different forms.

But doing it this time was different because we actually got to work on projects with a availability of resources

It was fun to play with the circuits and I got the hang of it quickly, although I had to adjust all my projects

I made a Father's Day card for Dad

I am wondering who will pick me up today

Hmmmm... I think I know who

I want to keep doing camp after it ends

I'll ask my mom about joining Gutsy Girls

For the second time

We haven't done our second activity

I'm a bit worried about it

But I know I'll be fine

I was the nuclear reactor in the Clam Free game we played this morning

The reactors carried nerf stuff and chased down clams who had to count down from 10 in a group of 6 at first then 20 in a group of 10 next.
2 clams had to hug another clam who had gotten tagged by a reactor and yell 2,1 clam free to unfreeze them. It was weird and I had some breathing issues after but it was still kind of fun

I can't wait for camp tomarrow

Start Program

Today we started camp again

I was excited to start camp again this morning even though I didn't remember at first why I was so excited to wake up at 4 in the morning

That would have been helpful

The Pico Cricket Robotics lesson was fun in the way it combined two concepts of reality in a cool engineering program

The CSS program was similar to HTML but seemed considerably easier

I liked today's lesson

The 5th Day

Today is the last day of the first week

I am so upset that it is the end of the first week of this camp

I like this camp and I want to keep doing it but now I know that it is half over

I am also already nervous about a competition I have tomorrow so this is really addling my nerves.

I wish that we could keep doing camp the whole summer

Which reminds me of something I need to do while I am still here

I hope that next week will be just as great as this one

I also hope that I can join Gutsy Girls

HTML was a fascinating subject that I was excited to learn because it presented me with a challenge and I am almost never challenged.

I believe that I will ty to practice HTML more in the future

Good-bye but just for now

4th Try

Pretty cool day

We got to use the computers again which was really cool

We worked on design blocks, one of the tabs that showed up every time any one of us used firefox

We were taught how to use it and during the breaks I got  inspiration for  a private project  that I'm doing at home

I also got to play Typing Ninja Hunter a lot more today

I was a bit disapointed that today didn't have group projects but instead had individual projects

I also got to turn in my Scratch  movie on the Yoda flashdrive

The first activity was  knots. We crossed over arms and held hands in a huge knot and tried to untangle ourselves.

The second was a huge circle of stretching. We each had to say a stretch. Some were...exotic. And I forgot my jacket.

But overall it was a fun day.

Finally, We Use Technology!

Today we got to start coding on the laptops

It was interesting and I liked being able to use the computer for something other than quick games during breaks

I was also glad that I was able to learn new skills on the computer

The Scratch program was awesome and I enjoyed creating games and movies, although Sploder is still a better game creator place in my opinion

Making movies on a new program was awesome

Scratch reminded me a bit of Sandbox and Final Cut combined

The dance activity was weird

I had a pretty good day

Challenges and Complications 2

This was my second say of camp

Today we learned how to make origami

It was really hard at first but it was still kind of fun

We also did an activity that taught us how to work togethor

It was challenging and we had to all fit  on one blanket for three seconds as it was folded up more and more

Origami  was really hard and confusing to do at first

The day had different components of good and bad but I still had a pretty good time

Games and Trouble

There I was in the cold classroom, sitting up front and watching a ominous board, covered with numbers in squares. The giant mouse moved over one number and clicked. A dark screen opened with a sentence on it. Without knowing, my hand shoots up. The words are out of my mouth and the words I said appeared on the screen. They are correct. I won $300 for our team. Today we played a computer science version of classroom Jeopardy. It was fun throughout and exciting and rare points but I believe that the creative way of reviewing the quickly learned sciences was the most enjoyable part of today at camp.
